Apollonia Kotero

Patricia Apollonia Kotero is an American actress singer and former model. She is known for co-starring in Prince's 1984 film Purple Rain and for having been the lead singer of the girl group Apollonia 6. It was among the many female artists who benefited from Prince's collaboration throughout the 1980s. Patricia Kotero, born 1959 in Santa Monica California began her career as an actress and model. The latter part of the 70s was when she was a guest on CHiPS. In 1984, she was chosen to play the lead lady in Prince's Purple Rain. (During this period, she changed her name.) Her replacement was Vanity of the female group Vanity 6 which starred in the film alongside Apollonia 6 under their name. Sex Shooter was not a huge achievement for the group however she made a greater influence as Prince's duet partner with Take Me with You on the soundtrack. After a disagreement about the direction of her career Apollonia 6 split up and Kotero stopped her collaboration with Prince. The singer appeared in several small film projects during this time and was reportedly not allowed to take part in her role in the Purple Rain sequel Under the Cherry Moon. From 1985 to 1986 she landed a part on the show called Falcon Crest. Apollonia could finally release her debut album in 1988. Unfortunately, it failed to leave a lasting impression with music fans and was soon obliterated from the scene. She stayed active, if not under the spotlight, as an actor during the decade following with small film and television roles. A workout DVD came out. Apollonia produced a Spanish/English bilingual album called Stay with Me. Later, she returned to the school and earned a filmmaking degree as well as a production firm, which mainly focuses on the field of children's TV. Apollonia is an incredibly talented woman. She's been an actress, model and the talent manager. As an actress she is well-known for her part in the 1984 film Purple Rain. She has also appeared on TV shows and movies like Black Magic Woman. Kotero debuted her career as a model. Kotero was a participant in a variety of pageants. Kotero was first for her first contest, the Miss San Pedro Beauty Pageant. The American beauty was also featured in music videos for Ray Parker Jr., Eddie Money and other artists. Kotero was also an entrepreneur who created Kotero Entertainment an entertainment company that specializes in multimedia entertainment company.
